Police Hands Full

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has nabbed a young man implicated in the October 29, 2016 attempted murder of Dakeem Cheltenham even as they are faced with a number of recent criminal and other serious matters, gun point robberies and an un-natural death of a male.

Kalik Aaron is the 20-year old Virgin Islander and native of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands who police are now placing before the courts of law in connection with the attempted murder of Dakeem Cheltenham.

According to a police press release, Aaron is charged for conspiracy to murder and attempted murder of Cheltenham.

The charges were laid on August 2, 2017. Consequent of the shooting, Cheltenham has been left critically injured and continues to receive treatment.

Mere hours after making this announcement, the police had to turn their attention to at least two other unrelated incidents. In one case, a man was found hanging in a shed in the community of Mayaba which overlooks Brewers Bay, Tortola, VI.

Then the popular eating house, Struggling Man’s Place, at Sea Cow’s Bay, endured another gun-point robbery also on the night of August 2.

According to reports, at about 8:45 PM, a lone gunman wearing a mask carted off approximately $1,000 cash from the restaurant. However, no one was injured and Police are currently investigating the robbery.

Days prior to these developments, the local police which was recently beefed up with additional imported intelligence, arrested and charged Shakeel Ryan, Shakeema Hanley and Essadro Jefferson in relation to the attempted murder, murder and conspiracy to murder David ‘Mooney’ Springette and Shaun Richards.
