Bandits Strike Delta Again

Bandits took yet another strike at Delta Petroleum Gas station at Pasea in the wee hours of July 11,2017 but this time failed to enter or cause damage.

Caught on camera, a circulating CCT surveillance video, shows the alleged robbery attempt where two persons with their faces covered can be seen trying to enter the 24 hour gas station.

The video shows one of the culprits with what appeared to be a gun, pointed at the glass door located at the front of the establishment. However, he encountered problems with the weapon.

The accomplice then took the gun and tried to do the same but also failed to discharge the firearm.

While the two men apparently tried to devise another strategy, an SUV with a defective headlamp slowly drove into the gas station and the disguised hoodlums moved to the other side of the building.

They subsequently emerged and again tried frantically to fire shots at the glass door. Again, the gun apparently jammed. After that attempt failed, they fled the scene.

The early part of the video also shows that there was at least one person at the cashier station who moved away upon seeing the hooded persons.

On December 15, 2016 the very gas station experienced a daring robbery when a gunman shattered the glass door with bullets, entered and then escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to Commissioner of Police, Michael Matthews one person witnessed the crooks in action but only alerted the police after the fact.

As police continue investigations into these and other robberies, the public is asked to cooperate in bringing the culprits to justice by calling in any information to the Major Crime Team at 368-5682 or the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
