5 Murders in 5 Months

The number of murders so far in the BVI for 2017 continues to astound residents, as in only five months five persons have met an untimely demise.

Truly understanding and being mindful that along with words, actions are necessary to fight crimes of all levels in the British Virgin Islands.

As the one at the Helm of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Commissioner of Police Mr Michael Matthews says that his team is working tirelessly and passionately to bring perpetrators to justice for murders that have rocked the territory.

Mr Matthews made this statement following the most recent murder which occurred at the Eastern End of Tortola. On May 6,2017 twenty-two year old Shawn Richards was shot in the Long Look Community.

Two days later, May 8 he succumbed to those injuries while at the Peebles Hospital.
